Lack of time is rarely the problem (lack of focus is)

We hear a lot about time management. A lot of money is made on products, services, and courses that improve this skill.

But in my experience, lack of time is rarely (if ever) the problem.

The real problem is lack of effective utilisation of the time you do have.

Trite example, but how much time do you spend on Twitter? Or watching YouTube? Or ?

Obviously breaks during work hours are important. But how many? Probably not as many as we’re all taking.

I’m convinced that on a truly productive day, you could do more in 2 hours than what the average person does in 8. Maybe more.

Think of the most productive you’ve ever been. Now imagine you were just always like that at the times you did actually want to work.

That would be game changing - far more so than clawing back an additional hour here and there through time management methods.

Instead of “time management”, think “focus management”.

How could you improve your brain to focus more? That’s the real question.
